The island of Sicily,
located off the toe of Italy,
is a large, often hot, and important island, famed throughout classical
antiquity for its agricultural produce, not least its wines. As
far back as the 8th. century colonies of Greeks
were developing viticulture; today this lovely area is at last making quality. good value wines that are earning their place in the global
market. This fruity blend of Sangiovese, the
principal variety of Tuscany
(and therefore Chianti) and Merlot, is typical of the new Mediterranean style. The wine shows spicy aromas, with a palate of
soft plums and dark cherry flavours with a touch of
vanilla oak on the finish.
Ce vin rouge Sicilien et typique de la région aujourd'hui, exprimant les caractères fruités de ces deux cépages. Le Sangiovese très connu dans le Toscane, et
le Merlot surtout dans le vignoble Bordelais.
