White Saumur is made from the Chenin Blanc grape, and is dry, rich and full flavoured. The cave co-operative at Saint Cyr has gained a reputation for producing wines of high quality that always offer excellent value for money. If you happen to be in the area, and it is only about 4 hours from here, do visit the chalk caves that extend nearly 10 kms underground. These provide ideal conditions for the wine to mature while stored in the bottle.

La Cave des Vignerons de Saumur vinifie 150 ha de Saumur blanc. Ce beau vin agréable, bien fait, est dominé par des arômes de vinfification; la fermantation à basse température induisant des notes aromatiques qui rappellent la banane, les fruits exotiques, les bonbons anglais.
