This is a négociant wine, meaning that the wine is bought, then blended to produce a style that suits a particular market. We normally buy from small growers, but we really loved this one, a veritable palette of colours, aromas and sensations. Shiraz and Pinot Noir are like chalk and cheese, the first spicy and bold, the second refined and velvety, but this unusual combination works really well, with flavours of blueberries, blackcurrants and violets in an elegant, approachable style; and what a price!
