Mâcon is an important commercial town on the river Saône, and is at the southern end of Burgundy. Made from the Chardonnay grape, Cuvée Eugène is a lovely example from the excellent Lugny co-operative, with good depth of flavour. If you like white Burgundy, you will find excellent value for money here (U.K. price £5.99).
