Condrieu is one of those rare wines that few people get to taste, but if you are interested in, and want to learn more about the wine world, then this is a must try. Situated just south of Vienne in the Rhône valley, Condrieu is made with the Viognier grape variety. Very small quantities are made, hence the high price, but the wines are rich, alcoholic and complex, yet retaining fresh flavours of violets and apricots. It can be drunk young but will develop further in the bottle if allowed. Definitely not one for the barbecue.

Condrieu est un vin rare, l’appellation n’a qu’une superficie de 110 ha. Il est riche en alcool, gras, souple, mais avec de la fraîcheur. Très parfumé, il exhale des arômes floraux, où domine la violette, et des notes d’abricot. C’est vraiment un vin pour le connoisseur, pour faire plaisir à vos amis proches.
