Coteaux du Languedoc
La Clape
Closablières
Château Ricardelle
Next time you drive to Spain, passing the impressive
cathedral at Narbonne on your right, cast a
glance at the singularly unimpressive lump of rock that looms to your left. In
Roman times it was an island, today a rugged oasis called La Clape (don’t try and explain this one to the French!),
situated within the Coteaux du
Languedoc appellation. Situated at the base of this large lump of rock is
Château Ricardelle, owned by a charming Italian
living in Germany (Vive le E.C.!) and about
as organic an estate as you can get. Closablières is
a full bodied, oak aged cuvée, with ripe fruit flavours and hints of creamy vanilla,
that just melt in the mouth. It needs food, and something solid at that,
but is well worth the expense.
Closablières est un vin
corsé, issu d’une cuvée de vieux chênes. Des saveurs de fruits mûrs et un soupçon de vanille s’y
marient bien en bouche.
€ 5.90 per bottle, € 67.26 per case
